The 2008 2009 Jeep Liberty is a sports utility vehicle that is categorized as midsize. The Jeep Liberty is available in two models, the Sport and the Limited. Both models are equipped with a 3.7 Liter V6 engine that is rated at 210 horsepower. It is equipped with a choice of six speed manual or six speed automatic transmissions. The Liberty is equipped with either a two wheel drive or two four wheel drive systems, a part-time Command-Trac system that can be engaged on dry roads or a full time Selec-Trac system that cannot be left engaged on dry roads. The Liberty can tow 5000 pounds. The fuel economy ratings of the Liberty equipped with the two wheel drive are 16 miles per gallon on city streets and 22 miles per gallon on the highway. The fuel economy ratings of the Liberty equipped with the four wheel drive are 15 miles per gallon on city streets and 21 miles per gallon on the highway.
The Liberty Sport model is equipped with air conditioning, a tilting steering wheel, cloth seats, bucket seats in the front, a console in the center, a rear seat that is split and can be folded, its mirrors, windows and locks are powered, keyless entry, a music system that has AM/FM radio and a player that can play CDs/MP3music, tachometer, headlights that switch off automatically and a rear window wiper/washer. The 2008 2009 Liberty Limited model is equipped with a leather-wrapped steering wheel and has the music system controls located on it, a driver's seat that can be adjusted in six different ways using power, mirrors that are heated and powered, a satellite radio and mats for the floor of the vehicle.
The 2008 2009 Jeep Liberty is equipped anti-lock disc brakes, stability control, curtain airbags that run the entire length of the vehicle are an option on the vehicle. Though the vehicle can seat 5 passengers, people seated in the back have a problem getting in and out of the vehicle due to small doors. It can store 31 cubic feet of luggage.
